Brand Manager Position at Balloon Artisan

Brand & Content Manager — Balloon Artisan

Remote (US) · Full-time · $120K base + 20% performance bonus

The honest pitch

We need help from getting from $5m / year to $25 m / year. We believe branding is the path forward.

We spent 13 years mastering balloon decor. Then in 2022, we rebuilt the business as a general contractor model — our team owns the client relationship, design, and logistics while a network of professional artists handles installation — and in three years became the largest balloon installation company in the world. (Talk about "inflation")

We've worked with some pretty impressive clients. GoodVets has hired us for 37 grand openings. Framebridge for 24. VIPCare for 30+ events. Popeyes trusted us with a launch that pulled 100,000,000+ social impressions. Crumbl brought us in for their Kylie Jenner pop-up. Walmart, Shake Shack, CITY Furniture, Ashley Furniture, Pacifico — over 1,000 brands in total. Today that's 100+ artists across 35 states executing hundreds of events every month, and we charge 3x market rates because the work earns it.

Here's the problem: almost nobody knows any of this. We have world-class proof and almost zero brand presence. Every month, hundreds of jaw-dropping installs go up and come down — unfilmed, unposted, unseen. (Womp womp)

You will fix that. You'll work directly with the founder as his right hand on everything brand, content, and marketing. You'll build the content engine from zero and turn what we already do every week into a brand that sells before our team ever picks up the phone. You will learn how a multi-million dollar company operates from the inside — sales, fulfillment, operations, growth.

Read this part carefully

This role is demanding in specific ways. We'd rather you know now than at week three:

  • There is no marketing team. You are the team. Strategy and execution are both yours. In the beginning you'll be doing everything yourself. You'll earn the budget to build a team under you by shipping results first.
  • Our calendar is evenings and weekends. Installs happen when events happen. You won't be on site — our coordinators run installs — but your content machine runs on their schedule. When a videographer no-shows a flagship shoot Saturday morning, you're the one solving it from wherever you are.
  • Your first 90 days end with a running machine, not a strategy deck. Footage capture systemized across events, editors producing, content publishing natively on every platform.
  • Your bonus is tied to 12 measurable goals a year — three per quarter, each with a number attached. You'll always know exactly where you stand, and so will we.
  • Finalists do a one-week paid working trial. You'll build a real plan to de-commoditize our offer and present it to the founder. It's the fastest way for both of us to find out if you're a good fit.

If you read that list and felt tired, we appreciate the honesty — please don't apply. If you read it and started outlining the 90-day plan in your head, keep reading.

What you will own

Brand strategy and positioning — Define how Balloon Artisan looks, sounds, and feels everywhere it shows up. Build the brand identity, tone of voice, and content pillars that make the company unmistakable.

Content production — Build and run the content pipeline end to end. Coordinate footage capture across hundreds of monthly events, manage professional videographers for flagship projects, and direct in-house editors. Your system turns every event into content and the best content into fuel for growth.

Social media and distribution — Own the full content calendar across all platforms. Each one gets a native approach. You think in ecosystems, not single channels.

Sales enablement and outbound support — Build the proof assets the team uses to open doors with enterprise accounts: portfolio decks, case studies, branded packages, highlight reels. Coordinate outreach logistics and hand off booked meetings with everything the team needs to close.

Where this role goes

This is a build-from-zero role that grows into Head of Marketing. You build the engine first, then the team that runs it. To be direct: Balloon Artisan is an operations company, and running it is an operations path — that's not this seat. What is this seat, fully and permanently, is ownership of how the world sees us. Nobody has built this yet. Your fingerprints will be on all of it.

Who you are

  • 4–7 years of in-house experience at an event, wedding, hospitality, DTC, DMC, or experiential brand or agency (You need experience making things look stunning)
  • You are operationally relentless. You chase deliverables, coordinate vendors, manage editors, and hold everyone accountable. You are not above any of it
  • You understand brand positioning at a strategic level, but you push buttons every day. You are not looking for a role where you delegate. You are looking for a role where you build
  • You have managed or coordinated freelance videographers, photographers, or creative contractors
  • You keep multiple projects moving at once without being asked
  • A strong GIF game is mandatory. We work incredibly hard, and the team chat is proof you can do that while having a good time

What you are not

  • You are not a pure strategist who needs a team to execute your ideas. You single-handedly bring initiatives across the finish line.
  • You are not someone who needs to be managed closely. You take a goal, figure out what needs to happen, and make it happen.

Compensation

  • $120K base salary
  • 20% annual performance bonus tied to the measurable quarterly goals above ($144K at full attainment)

How to apply

We only review applications submitted using the form below. "Easy Apply" makes it ridiculously complicated to filter through who is and isn't a good fit. So we only want to review the people who are serious.

The application takes about 15 minutes and asks for:

  1. Your resume
  2. A 60-second video introducing yourself. No scripts, no editing. Just you talking.
  3. A few short answers about how you'd approach our brand
